  • Details
Malachite is a copper-rich mineral that has been used for thousands of years to make dyes, paints, and mosaics (just to name a few). Malachite is great for jewelry, bone, or woodworking inlay since it is a relatively soft mineral. This particular malachite is from the Congo Region, which is known for its large, bright green malachite specimens. Malachite is used in almost every trade or craft, from woodworking, to jewelry, to natural paint pigment - you can't go wrong with this one!

    Material Size:
Fine - material is considered to be very fine to powder (silt size).

This product is NOT man-made, mixed with resin, or stabilized. Stone authenticity is extremely important to all artisans; therefore, we strive to validate the source of all our minerals before they are processed and crushed.

Please see product images for color, approximate size, and quality. Picture taken in full sun - material is dry.

    Frequently Asked Questions

My tracking says delivered, but I did not receive my order?

Makers Minerals ships all orders with tracking, including to locations outside of the United States. Our customers can follow their order using the tracking number that we always provide or through the Etsy app. Please contact your postal provider if you did not receive your package, especially if your tracking says "delivered". If you reside in the United States, we are happy to help you locate your misplaced package by calling your local USPS and getting GPS coordinates to help resolve the issue.

What is the difference between mineral chips and crushed minerals?

Mineral chips are usually tumbled to slightly tumbled pieces that can range in size and shape. Most shops buy mineral chips from a wholesaler (usually China) and then resell them on ETSY or elsewhere. They are rarely curated or tumbled by the actual seller.

Crushed minerals are very different! They are not mass produced or offered at wholesale. Usually, the seller (myself) hand picks the material to be crushed; therefore, they can control the quality of the end-product.

Are your stones really natural or real?

YES, absolutely! Makers Minerals supplies QUALITY, natural minerals at an affordable price. All our minerals are 100% natural and untreated unless otherwise stated. For example, we have "lab-created" turquoise AND natural, untreated turquoise. Each mineral/listing will explicitly state if the material is natural, lab-created, synthetic, dyed, or treated in the listing title and listing description.

What personal protective equipment should I use?

It is always advised to wear nitrile gloves, when handling crushed minerals, especially mineral powders. I also would advise a N99 mask if you are sanding minerals or are using mineral powders in your project. In addition, make sure you have proper ventilation.

Personally, I wear 4mil nitrile gloves, an N99 mask, and eye protection everyday!
