Serpentine is a common mineral that is usually found where hydrothermal alteration has taken place within the Earth's crust. This occurs when hot fluids intrude into the host rock and chemically alter other minerals to form serpentine. Generally, most serpentine is green and the mineral's name is thought to come from the greenish color of a serpent. However, this crushed serpentine has a beautiful yellow color, making this material very unique!
Medium - material is considered to be medium to fine (sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters.
This product is NOT man-made, mixed with resin, or stabilized. Stone authenticity is extremely important to all artisans; therefore, we validate the source of all our minerals before they are crushed. All of our minerals are handpicked by me (Missy) at some of the largest mineral shows in the United States.
Please see product images for color, approximate size, and quality. Picture taken in full sun - material is dry. Measurements are using the metric system (millimeters).
